According to the latest issue of Nintendo Power, the highly acclaimed Japanese cross-over fighting game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes is finally coming to North America! Despite early rumors that the game would never see American shores due to various licensing issues, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom will reach U.S. shores before the end of the year. The game, now releasing under the title Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, is going to remain relatively unchanged according to the Nintendo Power story however the game’s producer Ryota Niitsuma hinted that the U.S. release of the game may see some new character additions and perhaps even online play.
Finally there will be a game worthy of using that awesome Wii Hori fighting stick! As if it wasn’t obvious enough, the announcement of a U.S. release is fantastic news to fighting game enthusiasts (which I happen to know make up a huge chunk of our reader/listener base here at GamingVice) and Wii owners alike! As for those rumored new character additions, here’s hoping that they add Amaterasu from Okami, Speed from Speed Racer, and fan-favorite and Vs. Capcom alumni Servbot from Mega Man Legends to the North American release.

there are apparently around 12 different companies that own the rights to the various characters in this game as opposed to only one group in Japan….
for it to come out in NA proves that there was quite a few obstacles that were overcome during the process of this game being released….
…I’m not even that good at fighting games, but this makes me want a Wii….
Confirmation that the game was, in fact, one of Capcom’s two secret E3 games and will be playable on the show floor at E3: http://www.capcom-unity.com/kramez/blog/2009/05/18/capcom_e3_mystery_game_1_revealed_in_july_nintendo_power
That looks sick! Will you guys be playing this at E3 and if you are can you do an impressions write-up of what you thought? This looks awesome and the graphics are pretty impressive for a Wii game.
